About Deanna Brown, MA, LMHC

Deanna S. Brown, MA, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor, clinical supervisor, Army veteran, and one of the founder of Thoughtful Counseling Group and Light and Glory Non-Profit Foundation in Puyallup, WA. With over 11 years of experience, she specializes in trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, family therapy, culturally responsive counseling, and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy.

Deanna is passionate about empowering individuals through empathy, education, and evidence-based practices. Her diverse experience spans working with combat veterans, first responders, CPS-involved families, LGBTQIA+ clients, couples, children, and justice-involved youth. She has also served as a psychiatric hospital director and currently mentors emerging therapists through supervision grounded in ethics and clinical excellence.

Her therapeutic approach is nonjudgmental and client-centered, integrating EMDR, DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, grief counseling, and trauma recovery. Deanna uses the Gottman Method for couples therapy and offers creative, individualized care for teens and adults alike.

She is the author of Meeting My Therapist, a book designed to normalize therapy for families, available through Amazon, Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and BookBaby.

Deanna is also completing her PsyD in Clinical Psychology and remains deeply committed to community wellness through her nonprofit, Light and Glory, which provides education, outreach, and resources to underserved populations.
